Meet Our Founders

Robert C. Scaro, Jr., J.D., M.A.

Philosophy

As the director of college advising at a New England preparatory school and as a private college admissions consultant, Rob has a distinct perspective on higher education. He believes college is not so much a crowning achievement as it is a pivotal step on a transformative journey toward adulthood and personal growth.

Goal

Rob's goal is to help students build their confidence, unlock their potential, and find the schools that fit them best as they strive to become the people they aspire to be.

Approach

For the past decade, Rob has been helping students navigate the ever-evolving, often stressful college application process with a personalized 1-1 approach that is designed to inspire and empower them.

Experience & Skills

Before building a career in education and educational consulting, Rob spent more than a dozen years working as an attorney in the field of civil litigation and in management and leadership roles in the real estate industry. Passionate about teaching, he also served as an adjunct professor of Argument & Advocacy and Public Speaking in that time.

These experiences sharpened his analytical reasoning and deepened his appreciation for the power of strategic thinking and impactful communication. He now leverages these skills on a daily basis to help his students develop their application strategy, find their voice, and present themselves in an authentic, compelling manner through their essays, interviews, and all aspects of their college applications.

Education

Rob holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Law, a Master of Arts in American Studies from the College of William & Mary, and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications from Boston College.

Natasha Shumila, M.Ed.

Philosophy

As the former English department division head at a New England preparatory school and long-time English teacher, private writing instructor, and standardized test prep coach, Natasha believes that helping young people gain writing confidence is the key to unlocking academic success.

Goal

Natasha's goal is to empower students to discover and express their voice through writing, a skill that is invaluable not only in high school but throughout life.

Approach

Natasha has been helping students find their voice and excel in writing for more than 20 years with an approach that is highly personalized and designed to help students identify and build on their strengths.

Experience & Skills

In addition to her work as a department head and English teacher at both private and public schools, Natasha served as the Middle School Director at a private school where she was responsible for curriculum development, teacher training, and the student experience. Her broad experience across grade levels and educational settings has given her a deep understanding of students and how to best guide them with empathy, clarity, and purpose.

Before returning to education full-time, Natasha spent 14 years as an executive recruiter, working with finance professionals across a range of industries. This experience honed her understanding of effective communication, personal branding, and the power of a well-crafted narrative, skills she now brings to her work with students.

Education

Natasha holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in English from Harding University.

Contact Natasha

We highly recommend Rob as a college advisor; working with him was incredibly beneficial for our [older] son, as well as for us...Working with Rob was such a wonderful experience that we hired him to consult with our younger son and he was just accepted at his top choice college!

Parents of Tufts University Students
